Honorable participants,

This is Zeynep Akgün and it is such an honor to serve as the Directory General for the very first edition of

BAU x MARMARATRAIN’22.

We are currently living in an era of both hope and conflict. Unprecedented developments are constantly improving our lives and society as a whole, be it technological advancements, social progress, or medical breakthroughs. However, as much as we revel in the aspirations of a brighter future, it must be acknowledged that there are many challenges facing us, with war, poverty, diseases, and inequality still the norm in many parts of the globe. In these trying times, the importance of unity, cooperation, and solidarity is made even more evident; and through Model United Nations, I, as the Directory General, hope this training conference paves the way to instill these core values in our youth.

 

Through fruitful debate, I hope all delegates would be able to develop a broad perspective about living in the global society. Take a chance to express your own opinion in this conference and be your own voice.
