OECD

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development

Agenda Item: Shaping a Trusted Digital Marketplace through Global Standards for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Services and Cross-Border Data Flows Regulation moves in years.

Artificial intelligence moves in months. Somewhere in that gap sits the entire question of who gets to govern the digital economy, states protecting their citizens' data, companies pushing for frictionless cross-border flow, and international bodies trying to write standards fast enough to matter.

The OECD has no enforcement power, only influence, research, and the credibility of consensus. That makes this committee less about winning a vote and more about building something durable enough that markets and governments both choose to follow it. Delegates will need to decide what trust looks like in a marketplace that no longer respects borders.
