Borders shift, wars erupt, and the concept of belonging is completely rewritten. Today, mass migration forces an explosive debate between countries defending jus sanguinis and jus soli. On top of that those who are in a complete crisis within the understanding of citizenship caused by the migration explosions and ongoing wars. While media headlines are overflowing with overpopulation crises and the rise of digital nomadism and investment-based citizenship being in demand, the new terms of the new century throw a wrench into traditional sovereignty. How do we defend the fundamental human right to a nationality when the very definition of a nation is fracturing?
