League of Nations

Agenda Item: The codification of war crimes and atrocities, and the finalization of accusations submitted to the League of Nations
after World War I

The aftermath of World War I left the international community facing a fundamental question of justice and accountability. As unprecedented levels of destruction and violence came to light, the League of Nations was confronted with the challenge of defining war crimes and addressing accusations submitted against those responsible.

This committee will examine early efforts to codify war crimes and determine how accusations should be finalized within an emerging system of international law. The decisions made here will shape not only responses to past atrocities, but also the future of accountability in international relations.

History is not yet settled.
